This seascape painting was based on photographs I tool on South Padre Island, Texas last year.  We went see family and took a nice vacation on the island.  We stayed in one of my big brother's beach condos!  Sunrises and sunsets are my favorite times of the day, and they are my favorite subjects to paint!  Each one different and unique!   I woke up everyday and watched the sunrise and took lots of photographs.  There was one morning that had rain clouds, but the sunrise was gorgeous that morning too!  I will soon paint that breathtaking coastal scene too!

Jekyll Island provides a lot of inspiration for landscape and plein air paintings as much of the island is not developed.  I was fascinated by the miles of beautiful beaches and marshes. We took some time to take a stroll in the village shopping area by the Jekyll Island Club in the historic district.  We also visited some old ruins on the island too!

This enchanting landscape nature painting was inspired by a beautiful marsh on Jekyll Island.  When we were exploring the island, I asked my husband to pull over when I saw a sunlit marsh through some trees so I could do a quick plein air study and take photos.  This whole island was tranquil and serene, but this particular marsh captivated me. This landscape painting highlights  the glassy water and a sandy shore and rocky area.  The sun lit trees invite you into this enchanting painting of Jekyll Island.    

 ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival Booth and Crowd Photos  What a fabulous time I had at the ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival in Jupiter, Florida.  I enjoyed talking to so many people about my landscape and seascape paintings.  I have some new art collectors too!  We could not ask for better weather--Mid 70s with a nice breeze!  The crowds were steady, and it was  easy to set up and load out.  The Northern Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce did a great job of training and helping the emerging artists with their first art show! We had a reduced booth fee and our tent and panels were provided.  I am so grateful for the support and encouragement that we received from other artists at the show too.  Many established artists stopped by to wish me well and give me feedback on my booth set up.  We were spoiled with a nice breakfast, lunch and snacks all three days.  This show was well organized considering the magnitude of this event!  The emerging artist received nice publicity in the PBG Life
