This seascape painting was based on photographs I tool on South Padre Island, Texas last year.  We went see family and took a nice vacation on the island.  We stayed in one of my big brother's beach condos!  Sunrises and sunsets are my favorite times of the day, and they are my favorite subjects to paint!  Each one different and unique!   I woke up everyday and watched the sunrise and took lots of photographs.  There was one morning that had rain clouds, but the sunrise was gorgeous that morning too!  I will soon paint that breathtaking coastal scene too!

This impressionist  beach painting was inspired by the rocky coast of California and the Carmel area along the Pacific Coast Highway.  At low tide along the beach, you can often see the beautiful reflections of the rock formations in the water.  I put a shimmer of light glistening on the background rocks at sunrise.  The splashing waves on the rocks were painted with glowing colors that capture the luminous sky colors.  I completed this seascape painting in a master artist workshop.

Path to the Beach Acrylic Painting 24x30 Sold Imagine yourself walking on the sand as you cut between the dunes to take a walk on the beach.  There is something about the sand between your toes and gently blowing  sea ats that evoke a warm feeling inside.  The blue ocean and gently rolling waves await you. Come roll your jeans up and dip your toes in the warm water.  The serene cloudless sky is a beautiful blue with a warm sunny horizon is only slightly visible but it draws you into the painting. The sand dunes have soft beige and blue gray tones with touches of warm colors here and there.  I have so many wonderful childhood memories of running and rolling down the sand dunes on Padre Island.  They are a marvelous sight to see, and are one of my favorite things to paint.
